A waste industry lobby group and the State Government agency for managing waste are having a love-in at a luxury Melbourne hotel next week.
While those attending the $300-a-head conference will be swapping notes on how to spin you into supporting landfill and feasting on The Langham’s gourmet buffet lunch, residents in the western suburbs face an uncertain future because of Cleanaway’s proposal to expand the Ravenhall Tip.
Worse still, this extravagant event is being hosted by the Metropolitan Waste and Resource Recovery Group in collaboration with industry lobby group the Waste Management Association of Australia
Cleanaway, owner of the Ravenhall Tip, is giving a presentation titled “Beyond the bin education: engaging kids in landfills and the waste hierarchy”.
It’s wrong and creepy to seek to indoctrinate children for profit.
If you’re concerned about the possibility of your taxpayer dollars being used to fund this outrageous event, send a letter to Environment Minister Lisa Neville by completing the form below.
